BUSINESS COMMUNICATION: COVID-19 URBAN DEVCO OPERATIONS

Dear Valued Client

I would like to inform you on how Urban Devco plans to operate following the recent announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa on 24 March 2020 related to the National lock down period from 26 March 2020 to 16 April 2020.

We fully support the choices that the President has made and our offices will be closed from Thursday afternoon.

Urban Devco will however be fully operational, with the following support systems:

  • Core staff are equipped to work from home.
  • We will optimize our electronic communication systems, whilst personal contact is prohibited, e.g. by holding conference calls (zooming), use of emails and/or telephonic contact.

We will, whilst interaction with Metro’s and Municipalities will not be possible, communicate with the relevant town planners and legal administrators by email, as far as possible.

The submission of certain town planning documents, which cannot be submitted electronically, i.e. land use applications, will be done as soon as possible after the lock down.  The challenging realities may result in a slowdown in decision-making processes at Metro’s and Local Authorities.

We will however use the additional time at hand productively to continue with the preparation of applications to enable submission of such applications, as soon as cities are operative again and all systems are opened for business as usual.

We will closely monitor the situation at the cities and land use management departments, to align our operations for effective and efficient outcomes. You are most welcome to address any issues in this regard to me by email or mobile telephonic interaction.

Your understanding and co-operation to promote the best outcomes under difficult circumstances are sincerely appreciated.

TOGETHER WE WILL WIN AS SOUTH AFRICANS IN SOLIDARITY
